As I sit and stare at the stars at night
I can't help but wish you were here with me
We could laugh and joke as we counted the stars
This silence is deafening but I can still hear your heart beating while mine lays broken on the ground
The moon bathes the world in its luminous light as I think of your smile
The one that warms my heart until it burns like a star and lifts my soul to the sky
All I can do is swallow my tears and sit and watch the stars alone, wishing you were here
